Paneer Paratha

Paneer Paratha is a delicious Indian flatbread filled with spiced cottage cheese (paneer). It’s high in protein and perfect for breakfast or a light meal.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil or ghee (optional)
  • Water, as needed (around 3/4 to 1 cup)

For the Paneer Filling:

  • 1 cup paneer (Indian cottage cheese), crumbled
  • 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt, to taste

For Cooking the Paratha:

  • Ghee, butter, or oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Mix flour, salt, and water to form a smooth dough. Rest it for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, mix crumbled paneer with spices, chopped green chilies, coriander, and salt.
  3. Stuff and Roll the Paratha: Roll a dough ball, place a portion of the filling in the center, seal it, and roll it out again.
  4. Cook the Paratha: Place the paratha on a hot skillet, and fry with ghee or oil until golden on both sides.
