Paneer Paratha is a delicious Indian flatbread filled with spiced cottage cheese (paneer). It’s high in protein and perfect for breakfast or a light meal.
Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon oil or ghee (optional)
- Water, as needed (around 3/4 to 1 cup)
For the Paneer Filling:
- 1 cup paneer (Indian cottage cheese), crumbled
- 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt, to taste
For Cooking the Paratha:
- Ghee, butter, or oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: Mix flour, salt, and water to form a smooth dough. Rest it for 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, mix crumbled paneer with spices, chopped green chilies, coriander, and salt.
- Stuff and Roll the Paratha: Roll a dough ball, place a portion of the filling in the center, seal it, and roll it out again.
- Cook the Paratha: Place the paratha on a hot skillet, and fry with ghee or oil until golden on both sides.
