Piyaju Variations

1. Classic Lentil Piyaju

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup red lentils (soaked)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • Green chilies (chopped)
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • Salt to taste

Steps:

  1. Blend lentils into a thick paste.
  2. Mix with onions, chilies, and spices.
  3. Shape into small balls and fry until golden.

2. Onion Piyaju

Ingredients:

  • 2 large onions (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup lentil flour
  • Green chilies
  • Cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste

Steps:

  1. Mix onions, lentil flour, chilies, and cumin seeds.
  2. Deep-fry spoonfuls of the mixture until crispy.

3. Spinach Piyaju

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup lentils (soaked and blended)
  • 1 cup chopped spinach
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • Spices (cumin, coriander, turmeric)

Steps:

  1. Mix lentils, spinach, onions, and spices.
  2. Fry spoonfuls of the mixture in oil.
